| I am now officially a United States Marine Corps Officer Candidate!
As of today, I have contracted with 13 pullups, 90 situps, and took my 3mile run down to 21.29, giving me a score of 234. I have signed all my papers, and now am a United States Marine Corps Officer Candiate! My papers are being sent off to the 4th Marine District where I wait to find out if I get to attend the school on my selected date.
| The following is a quote from Lt. Jamison that keeps me going every day. This quote gets me pumped and makes me know that this is what I am about.
"Do not let yourself forget what you are striving for and what is at stake for our nation. You have all volunteered to become leaders of Marines. That is no small responsibility. It is compounded by the fact that our nation is at war. Make no mistake, there are millions of people who awoke this morning praying for and vowing our nation’s death. That is not propaganda, but it is the truth. Not every college student has the courage and sense of service that you do, but that is why not everyone can become a Marine Officer. So when school gets busy and your life gets hectic, take a step back and remember what you are about: leadership, service, being part of something bigger than yourself, and defeating a determined enemy."
Yesterday I took my Marine Corps PFT and did really well for having 3 weeks to prepare after the initial PFT. Lt. Jamison told me we are going to try to get me contracted within the next 3 weeks. OHHRAHH! Time to step it up another notch.
I am so excited and have never been happier in my life. I will become a Marine Corps Officer and I will lead Marines into battle. The feeling of spending a day with OCS graduates and future US Marine Officers was a great experience. We took place in the re-up of SSgt Compondu. It was an amazing thing to witness. I love the feeling now, I can't wait to experience getting through OCS!
| Well I am still working out despite the fact I was really sick this week. Oh well I still got in everything I needed to do. What sucks about being sick? Nothing because when you get sick you are just getting it out of your system so you won't be sick later. This working out feels great. Today I did a total of 150 pushups, 50 pullups, 111 situps, and ran 3.5 miles. Here are some more results from working out. http://x35.xanga.com/f04a712673c3179546001/q54074142.jpg http://x85.xanga.com/9f8d1b21d943479545937/q54074094.jpg | | |
